Arquetopia
The Arquetopia Writers Program offers emerging and mid-career writers, journalists, playwrights, translators, and graduate students a customized creative process. Based on Audre Lorde’s concept that 'poetry is not a luxury,' the program frames writing as self-expression and resistance. Participants engage in personalized mentorship to explore the intersection of their inner inner worlds with broader social and political landscapes, interrogating ideological legacies and embracing intuition over rigid intention. The residency provides a space for reimagining the possibilities of writing and dismantling assumptions that restrict creativity.
Private bedroom, 24-hour kitchen access, wireless internet, shared serviced bathrooms, housekeeping, downtown or airport pickup/dropoff, personal workspace with desk/table, and weekly mentorship meetings with directorial and curatorial staff.
Open to writers, journalists, playwrights, translators, and graduate students age 20 and over. Participants must propose their own session dates (flexible 3 to 5 weeks).
Applicants must email info@arquetopia.org for tuition info and specific application deadlines, then use the application link provided on the website.
