About the Open Call

Kill Your Darlings magazine publishes fiction and non-fiction. They seek non-fiction pitches between 1500–2000 words covering books, ideas, creative practice, and the publishing industry. Future pitching windows include June 1 to June 14, 2026. Fiction submissions are currently closed until further notice.

What is Offered

Minimum payment of $700 for accepted non-fiction pitches.

Requirements

Authors are strongly encouraged to read the magazine before submitting. Pitches should be 1500-2000 words.
