The Association of Illustrators (AOI)
The World Illustration Awards (WIA), presented by The Association of Illustrators (AOI) in partnership with the Directory of Illustration since 2015, is a global celebration of illustration. WIA focuses on supporting and celebrating creativity internationally, connecting illustrators with their peers and the global illustration industry. The awards are split into two groups: New Talent and Professional, and include a touring exhibition.
WIA rewards excellence with cash prizes for overall winners and a range of valuable benefits for category winners, shortlisted, and longlisted projects. The Overall Professional Winner receives £2000, and the Overall New Talent Winner receives £1000. Other benefits include self-promotional tools, networking events, features on WIA platforms, and recognition within a touring exhibition.
The World Illustration Awards accept all work, whether commissioned or self-initiated, across various categories. Submissions must have been created within the past year before the Call for Entries closes. The awards are open to both New Talent and Professional illustrators globally.
Artists are invited to enter the World Illustration Awards 2026 through the official website by clicking 'Enter Now'. Entrants should consult the 'Guide to Entering' and 'FAQs' for detailed instructions. Discounts are available for early bird entries, AOI members, and for tutors, agents, and commissioners submitting 10 or more projects.
