Maajaam and Wild Bits

Free

About the Open Call

Wild Bits is an exhibition concept that proposes a temporary art park in the wilderness. The exhibition seeks points of contact between people, technology, and nature. Maajaam is seeking proposals for installations, interventions, or processes to be placed in natural landscapes that explore the human condition in a contemporary technological society. The artworks should be durable for outdoor conditions and are encouraged to consider energy-sustainable solutions. Selected works will be produced during a three-week residency and displayed in the 2027 triennial and potentially other locations until 2028.

What is Offered

Selected projects receive a 3000€ artist fee (per collective), a production budget up to 5000€, and travel support (350€ within Europe/700€ outside EU). The host provides accommodation and two meals per day during the residency.

Requirements

Artworks must be suitable for outdoor environments, engage with nature/technology, and include a sustainability/materials plan. Projects involving electricity must include a power management plan; physical objects are preferred over AR/VR.

How to Apply

Applicants must complete the online application form with personal details, project summary, motivation, and estimated budget. After submission, an upload link will be provided to submit supplementary materials including a creative CV, portfolio, project sketches, and a detailed production plan.
