About the Open Call

Inspired by A.F. Freeman’s 1921 poem ‘Shalford, 1921’, this creative heritage project invites artists, writers, and filmmakers to reflect on 'what keeps you well'. The project, running between August 2025 and July 2026 in collaboration with Surrey History Centre, explores historical and contemporary wellbeing practices. Creative responses are welcomed in visual or written form across four categories: Over 18s Visual, Over 18s Written, Under 18s Visual, and Under 18s Written.

Prize money up to £750

Requirements

The call is open to creatives of all ages and experience levels. Entries are accepted in visual or written form across four categories: Over 18s Visual, Over 18s Written, Under 18s Visual, and Under 18s Written.

How to Apply
