Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts
The winter season at Watershed is designed to offer unstructured time and space for artists to immerse themselves in their practice and new projects. The program accommodates eight artists at a time to live and work in a community setting while providing space for solitude. Residents can choose between a studio-only rental or an in-residence stay with housing and kitchen access. Participants must be self-sufficient as no instruction or meals are provided during the winter season.
24-hour studio access, dedicated space in an open studio (approx 300 sq ft), wood shop use, kiln and material access (fee-based), and optional housing in the Commons building with kitchen and laundry facilities.
Artists must be able to work independently in the studio. Applicants should be prepared for winter conditions in Maine, including snow and ice, and must manage their own practice and meals without staff instruction.
Applications are submitted through the SlideRoom portal. They are reviewed on a rolling basis as they are received.
