About the Open Call

This program offers hands-on training in skills essential for a dance wardrobe environment. Participants interact with dancers and choreographers, study traditional and contemporary construction methods from the Banff Centre collection, and attend workshops with expert faculty. The curriculum covers build techniques for contemporary dance, repair techniques, and working within budget constraints. The program runs alongside the Dance Production Residency and concludes with a public showcase.

What is Offered

Scholarships cover 100% of tuition and 25% of meal plan and accommodation costs for all arts participants. Includes single bedroom accommodation, a daily $68 dining credit, studio access, and fitness centre membership.

Requirements

Applicants must be 18+ and possess experience with sewing machines, sergers, and hand-sewing for costume construction. Candidates should be pursuing a professional career in wardrobe and have an interest in dance costuming and performing arts production.
