Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA)
The 2027 Wachtmeister Award is for an interdisciplinary visual artist pushing the boundaries of traditional and nontraditional materials and approaches. Applicants must have worked professionally for at least 15 years with substantial national or international achievement. The recipient will receive a fully-funded VCCA residency of up to 30 days (scheduled between May 1, 2027, and August 31, 2028), a $1,000 honorarium, and a $750 travel stipend. This award is for artists who have never been in residence at VCCA.
