Visual Narratives: PCNW's 27th Juried Photography Exhibition

About the Open Call

Photographic Center Northwest (PCNW) announces a call for entries for its 27th Annual Juried Photography Exhibition, 'Visual Narratives.' Professional, mid-career, and emerging lens-based artists worldwide are encouraged to submit work on any theme, with a particular emphasis on cohesive bodies of work that tell a story or explore a concept through a series of images. The juror, Mary Virginia Swanson, will be looking for strong, artistic narratives. Selected artists will have their work exhibited in the PCNW gallery from November 3 to December 14, 2025. Awards include $1,000 for 1st place, $500 for 2nd, and $250 for 3rd. There is an application fee of $50 for 5 images, with additional images at $5 each up to a maximum of 10. A 50% discount code is available for those experiencing financial hardship by contacting espencer@pcnw.org. PCNW is committed to supporting artists, offering 90% commission on all works sold during the exhibition. Notification of acceptance will be the week of September 22nd, 2025. Selected artists must ensure framed work arrives in Seattle, WA by October 22nd, 2025, and are responsible for shipping to and from the gallery. All artists retain rights to their submitted photographs, granting PCNW nonexclusive rights for promotion and archival purposes related to this exhibition, with proper credit.

What is Offered

Exhibition opportunity in the PCNW gallery, prize money (1st place = $1,000, 2nd = $500, 3rd = $250), 90% artist commission on sales, and promotion through PCNW's channels.

Requirements

Open to professional, mid-career, and emerging lens-based artists from all communities. Artists are encouraged to submit cohesive bodies of work or series of images that convey a strong artistic narrative. Submissions must be image files. If selected, framed work must arrive at PCNW in Seattle, WA by October 22nd, 2025. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the gallery. All levels of experience and backgrounds are welcome.
