About the Open Call

Quilt Visions 2026 is the 27th international juried exhibition organized by the Visions Museum of Textile Art. The exhibition seeks innovative 2D art quilts that demonstrate high levels of quality, surface design, composition, and craftsmanship. The exhibition will be on display at VMOTA in San Diego from October 2026 to January 2027. The event includes Festival Days featuring workshops, lectures, artist meet-and-greets, and an opening reception. Selected works will be featured in a full-color exhibition catalog and cash prizes will be awarded to winners.

What is Offered

Selected artists will have their work exhibited in San Diego, featured in a full-color catalog, and become eligible for cash prizes. The opportunity also includes networking during Festival Days, workshops, and lectures.

Requirements

Open to the general public. Artwork must be original, completed on or after January 1, 2024, and not previously exhibited within 100 miles of San Diego. Quilts must consist of at least two layers stitched or fastened together, with a maximum size of 72x72 inches and a 3-inch hanging sleeve. Selected works must be available for the duration of the exhibition.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online through the ArtCall portal. Artists can submit up to three entries by uploading one overall digital image and one detail image for each piece. Images must be JPEG format, at least 2500 pixels on the long side, and under 4MB. A non-refundable entry fee is required ($40 for members, $50 for non-members).
