About the Open Call

Norman Arts Council is seeking an artist to create a major work of art for the University Town Center in Norman, Oklahoma. The artwork should be interactive or kinetic, functional in both day and night, and durable enough to withstand Oklahoma's weather conditions and public interaction. The total artist's fee is $350,000 to cover all design, fabrication, and installation costs.

What is Offered

Total artist fee of $350,000 for the commissioned work, plus honoraria and travel allowances for selected finalists.

Requirements

Open to professional artists with experience working on public art projects of this scale and site-specific works.

Applications must be submitted via the CaFÉ (Call for Entry) website. Requirements include a one-page letter of interest, resume/CV, artist bio/statement, three references, and 3-8 high-resolution images of previous work.
