University of Arkansas at Little Rock
The Windgate Artist in Residence at UA Little Rock offers a semester-long opportunity for selected applicants to create work and engage with the School of Art and Design community. The program provides 24-hour access to private and specialized studios, including woodshop (with CNC and laser cutter), ceramics, jewelry and metalsmithing, smithy and foundry, photography, and printmaking. Selected artists are expected to lead one 2-day workshop, give two artist talks, critique BFA students, and donate one work of art to the university's permanent collection.
$30,000 stipend per semester, $2,000 budget for materials and travel, housing provided, private studio space, and access to school facilities.
Applicants must have an active artistic practice with a record of exhibitions at the national or international level and experience working with students. A college degree (MFA, BFA, BA) or commensurate experience is required. International artists must already possess a valid visa for the duration of the residency.
