Unexpurgated: Freedom in Form and Color

About the Open Call

SlowArt Productions presents the thematic exhibition: Unexpurgated: Freedom in Form and Color. This exhibition will be held at the Limner Gallery from March 5 – 28, 2026. The exhibition invites artists to explore the concept of art as a form of speech and expression. Works may address themes of personal truth, social commentary, identity, resistance, or the uninhibited creative voice. All media and stylistic approaches are welcome. All interpretations of the theme Unexpurgated: Freedom in Form and Color, will be reviewed and considered. The exhibition is open to all artists, national and international, working in all media. All forms of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, graphics, digital and installation art, video, etc. are eligible. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Wall mounted works must not be taller than 72 inches and no wider than 120 inches. Sculptural work must fit through a 36 inch wide entry door. Artwork in the show may be exhibited for sale or not for sale, with the gallery taking a 35 percent commission on all sales. Sale price is determined by the artist. A $35.00 entry fee applies for one to four artworks, with an additional $5.00 fee for each artwork beyond four. Artists retain all copyrights to submitted images and represented artwork, granting the gallery rights to use selected images for promotional purposes only. Notification of selection will be posted online by November 30, 2025, and also sent via email. Entry images must be JPG/JPEG format, no larger than 2500 pixels on the longest side, submitted via email attachments or links to personal web pages/Google images. Video artists may submit links to online viewing platforms. Payments can be made via Debit/Credit Card, PayPal, Venmo, or Apple Pay.

What is Offered

Selected artists will be featured in a group exhibition at the Limner Gallery, March 5 - 28, 2026. The exhibition will also be displayed on the Limner Gallery web site and promoted on social media. Artwork in the show may be exhibited for sale.

How to Apply

Entries must be submitted via email by 12:00 midnight on November 8, 2025. Attached image files must be in JPG (or JPEG) format, not larger than 2500 pixels on the longest side. ZIP files are not accepted. Alternatively, images can be posted to a personal web page or Google images page with a provided link. Video entries require a link to the video posted on Vimeo, YouTube, or any online video viewing platform. Payments must be made at the time of entry using Debit or Credit Card, PayPal, Venmo or Apple Pay. Artists unable to pay by card may mail a check or money order payable to SlowArt Productions.
