About the Open Call
Trucks of Art 2026 is a public art initiative by the NYC Department of Sanitation and the Sanitation Foundation. Selected artists will paint active sanitation trucks using zero-waste materials, including discarded paint. The designs celebrate NYC's cleanliness, sustainability, and essential workers. The project includes a public unveiling festival in late spring 2026.
What is Offered
Up to $1,500 stipend and nearly 400 sq. ft. of mobile canvas visible to thousands of New Yorkers daily.
Requirements
Open to New York City artists. Selected artists must use zero-waste materials, including recycled paint, to transform DSNY trucks.
