About the Open Call

As part of IOU's 50th anniversary, this commission invites three artists to create new performance-to-camera or film works. The selected artists will undertake a one-week residency in June 2026, stay at the IOU Hostel in Hebden Bridge, and have access to studio space at the IOU Creation Centre in Halifax. Artists will work collaboratively to produce a cohesive triptych presentation. Support includes individual mentoring, technical filming and editing assistance from university students, and opportunities for public engagement.

What is Offered

Includes a £750 artist stipend, up to £300 travel/expenses, up to £250 materials budget, accommodation and catering, studio space, mentorship, and technical support.

Requirements

Open to UK and international artists at any career stage working in body-based performance, durational practice, movement, and/or land art.
