Tanznetz Freiburg gUG
Workshop on body, poetry & (pop-)music by Mira Mann. This workshop is part of the exchange residency “for exchange+” – a cooperation between multiple German dance organizations. Mira Mann's practice begins with the body and develops texts, music and performance from it, shaped by her personal experience with multiple sclerosis. She is interested in the performative poetic power of words in contact with music and bodies. The workshop provides an overview of literary knowledge on the interplay between body and text production, guiding participants through various possibilities of body-related text production. Participants will explore personal deep dives into body-text-music connections, access resulting text material, and create sonic and performative spaces using everyday sounds, simple chorally sung and spoken modules, and basic dance movements. The aim is to connect the private with the political across different disciplines, always centering the body. Mira Mann works transdisciplinary in poetry, music, and performance, dealing with themes like sex, illness, motherhood, and violence in a radically personal way. She explores boundaries of closed systems and searches for unexpected feedback loops, combining artistic and curatorial practice with mediation formats. No previous knowledge is necessary.
Opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary body-text-music practices, learn about performative poetry, and create sonic and performative spaces through guided exercises.
No previous knowledge is necessary. Maximum 12 participants.
