About the Open Call
The Tokyo Contemporary Art Award (TCAA) was established in 2018 as a contemporary art prize for mid-career artists whose work, including work developed overseas, inspires expectations of potential for even greater achievements. The program provides continuous support over several years, including studio visits by an international selection committee, travel and production grants, and professional publication support.
What is Offered
¥3,000,000 monetary prize, up to ¥2,000,000 for overseas activities (travel, accommodation, research, and production), an award exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, and publication of a monograph.
Requirements
Mid-career artists who have been active or based in Japan whose work inspires expectations of potential for even greater achievements.
