The House of Smalls
This is an exhibition opportunity for women who have personally, or through someone close to them, experienced misdiagnosis, late diagnosis, or healthcare delays. The theme 'Weight of Waiting' explores the emotional burden, psychological distress, and physical deterioration that manifests during periods of medical waiting. The House of Smalls is an independent space focused on raising awareness through personal stories and life experiences, often rooted in trauma and activism. Artists may exhibit anonymously or under a pseudonym. The show includes space in the main gallery and a specialized window-based dollhouse for miniature works.
Selected artists will be featured in a 4-week physical exhibition, on the gallery's website, social media, and catalogue. Artists can also include up to 3 prints and 5 greeting cards for sale. Sales commission is only 10%.
Open only to women/female artists. Work must address the theme of healthcare-related waiting and diagnosis. Size limits: Main space works must not exceed 110cm on the top edge. Dollhouse wall art must not exceed 13cm x 13cm x 1cm, and 3D dollhouse art must be within 8cm x 8cm x 15cm. Selected artists must pay a show fee (£35 for main space, £15 for dollhouse) to cover gallery rent and overheads.
Artists must register for a free CuratorSpace account and submit their work through the online application form on the opportunity page.
