About the Open Call

The nonprofit Oglebay Institute offers three 12-week residencies at the Stifel Fine Arts Center. The program aims to amplify community engagement and provide early-career artists with professional development opportunities. Selected artists will participate in outreach programs with seniors or high school students, teach workshops, and assist with Spring classes. The residency period is scheduled for April 1 through June 27, 2026. Available studios include facilities for ceramics, jewelry, stained glass, and printmaking/screen-printing. Artists will present a final public exhibition of the body of work created during their time at the center.

What is Offered

A $3,000 living stipend, a $750 material and equipment stipend, studio space at the Stifel Fine Arts Center, professional development, and a public exhibition.

Requirements

Open to professional and emerging artists age 21 and over. Preference is given to artists working in ceramics, jewelry, stained glass, and printmaking. Applicants must have reliable transportation for outreach programs. Housing is the artist's responsibility, though some reduced housing may be available upon request.

How to Apply

Artists must apply via the CaFÉ online platform. The application requires a cover letter (maximum 2 pages), a resume (maximum 2 pages), an artist statement (maximum 250 words), 5-10 images of completed work, and additional promotional images of the artist and their workspace.
