University of Toronto, Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies
The Artist-in-Residence will join the intellectual community at the Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies for the 2026-27 academic year. The role includes participating in activities such as guest lectures, a public artist talk, office hours with students, and general presence at the Centre. The residency expressly concentrates on the role art plays in expanding thinking about sexual diversity and the relations between art, activism, and social justice.
A stipend of $20,000, funding for a final showcase (exhibition, reading, screening, or performance), office space, and access to University of Toronto archives and library collections.
Qualified artists working in any medium whose work centers on LGBTQ2S+ lives and cultures. Successful applicants must be in residence in the Greater Toronto Area during the award period and participate in the Centre's intellectual community.
Submit a short 1-page cover letter (discussing your work and residency project), a curriculum vitae, and an example of your work (on-line link, PDF, jpeg, or other format) to qtrl.sds@utoronto.ca.
