About the Open Call

The marehalm ART award is aimed at artists who have developed a unique and surprising artistic position that has previously received insufficient attention. The 2026 edition focuses on the theme 'Verknüpfung' (Connection). There are no restrictions regarding age or educational background. A jury will select finalists to present their work in an exhibition at the Richard Haizmann Museum, where five winners will be chosen.

What is Offered

Five cash prizes are awarded: 1st Place (€4,000), 2nd Place (€3,000), 3rd Place (€2,000), 4th Place (€1,500), and 5th Place (€1,000). Finalists also receive an exhibition opportunity at the Richard Haizmann Museum.

Requirements

Artists must present a recognizable and unique artistic position. Works must address the 2026 theme 'Verknüpfung'. Applicants must hold all rights to the submitted works. Finalists must deliver their artworks to the museum on July 11, 2026, for the jury session.
