THE MANIFEST PRIZE

About the Open Call

The 16th Annual Manifest Prize offers a $5,000 award for a single work of visual art. The prize is open to works of any media, any genre/style, and any size, with almost no restrictions on submissions. The jury process is blind and involves multiple rounds with up to 18 anonymous professional jurors. Works submitted must have been completed within the past five years (2020-2025) and must be available for exhibition from early December through mid-January. The winning work will be featured in a four-week solo exhibit in one of Manifest's five galleries. Additionally, the Manifest Board of Directors has approved additional cash awards of $250 for four runners-up, who will also be recognized and documented. All selected works will be included in the season-documenting publication, the Manifest Exhibition Annual, with the winner receiving a free copy of the hardcover book. Eligibility is open to everyone, requiring exceptional original works of visual art, design, or high craftsmanship. Accepted media includes video, photography, sculpture, installation, painting, drawing, printmaking, and furniture design. There are no size limits beyond what can be displayed in the gallery space. Work accepted for exhibition must arrive ready to install, demonstrating professional-level presentation and craftsmanship. Works will be insured by Manifest while on gallery premises, but not during shipping. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs to and from the gallery.

Requirements

Works submitted must have been completed within the past five years (2020-2025). The winning work must be available for the exhibition period of early December through mid-January. Entries must represent exceptional original works of visual art, design, or high craftsmanship and be capable of being exhibited in one of Manifest's five galleries. Accepted work must arrive ready to install, exhibiting professional-level presentation and craftsmanship. Images must be uploaded according to specifications: files named last name_first name_entry number.jpg, no smaller than 1000 pixels in any direction (approx. 13"), 72 dpi, in HIGH QUALITY JPEG format. Video links should be provided on the entry form and link directly to online or downloadable content that does NOT require a login, password or membership to view.

How to Apply

Applicants must complete the online ENTRY FORM and upload submission images via the provided Dropbox link. Images must be high-quality JPEG format, no smaller than 1000 pixels in any direction, 72 dpi, and named with the artist's last name_first name_entry number. Video submissions require a link to a viewable online copy and a single representative JPEG image. The entry fee can be paid by U.S. check, money order, or credit card via PayPal. Fees are non-refundable.
