The Kintai Arts Residency invites artists and professionals working in culture and academia fields to apply for an individual residency programme for March - June 2025. The duration of the residency can vary from 2 weeks to 2 months. This programme is dedicated to those seeking a quiet retreat in nature, a peaceful place to focus on various types of cultural and academia projects. The Residency provides accommodation and workspace for a wide range of activities, including both research-based practices and multidisciplinary artistic practices (ceramics, painting, sculpture, sound art, performance, choreography, etc.). Residents are invited to live within the community and organize various events that promote their work and nourishes the exchange of ideas with their peers. Individual residents and collectives are welcome during September - October, 2025 and April - June, 2026. Duration of a residency can vary from 2 weeks to 1 month. Applications must be submitted not later than one month before the chosen start date of the residency. The residency programme is fee-based. For those seeking funding, Kintai Arts provides letters of collaboration and official acceptance letters.Work and accommodation conditions: The Kintai Arts Residency offers accommodation in private studios with a separate bathroom and kitchenette, as well as double rooms or four-person rooms with a shared bathroom. The residency building also features a shared kitchen and a space for communal dinners. Work conditions: A shared workshop space for visual art practices (approximately 60 m²), equipped for woodworking and painting; 2 smaller working rooms (20-35 m²); Gallery space, two halls (approx. 110m²) and exhibition space in the basement of the residency; Movement practice, choreography, music and interdisciplinary practices can be accommodated in the surrounding buildings of the residency (the multifunctional centre hall, the Vydūnas Centre, the Evangelical Lutheran church buildings, the Kintai library); Sound studio with professional equipment (a catalogue is available upon request); Ceramics studio. In Kintai town, there is also access to a gym, volleyball and basketball courts, many large walls in public spaces suitable for creative ideas, fields, forest and, of course, the Curonian Lagoon, offering opportunities for both active sports and peaceful leisure, as well as bird migration observation at Ventė Cape. Residency bikes are available for local travel.Costs: The price includes accommodation and the provision of space and equipment during the residency. The price does not include working materials, travel and meal expenses. Accommodation costs per night: A studio (single bed) with private facilities (WC and a kitchenette) - 30 EUR/night; A double room (1 double bed) with individual facilities - 40 EUR/night; A triple room (double bed + single bed) with individual facilities - 50 EUR/night; Spaces at mezzanine with shared facilities (from 1 to 4 persons) - 15 EUR/night per person (only during a warm season). If financial difficulty is an issue, applicants are encouraged to mention this in their email application to discuss accommodation price options.Funding: This programme is not funded. Incoming residents must cover travel and accommodation costs. The Residency can issue an official letter of acceptance to residents applying to Individual Fellowship and Residency Funding Programmes.
