Indigo Arts Alliance
The Indigo Arts Alliance Mentorship Residency Program serves as an arts incubator for visual artists, performance artists, and musicians. The program pairs a National or International artist traveling to Maine with a Local/Regional artist to cultivate conversation, collaboration, and exchange of industry knowledge and technical skills. Residents have 24-hour access to a 3,000 square foot community studio. The mission specifically focuses on serving Black and Brown artists, including those of African descent, Indigenous peoples, Latinx, and Asian communities.
Residents receive a stipend, private one-bedroom off-site housing (for visiting artists), travel expenses for national/international travel, 24-hour studio access, and 1:1 feedback and support.
Applicants must be 21+ and a descendant of African nations, Indigenous peoples, Latinx, or Asian/Pacific Rim communities. Artists must have 2+ years of exhibition or studio experience, a sustained commitment to their practice, and cannot be enrolled in a full-time academic program. A COVID-19 vaccination is required.
National and International artists are selected via nomination; nominated artists submit materials through a Submittable portal. Local and Regional artists from the North Eastern region (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI) can submit rolling applications via the website year-round.
