About the Open Call

The House of Smalls is an independent art space in Edinburgh that provides a supportive environment primarily for women artists to exhibit work often rooted in trauma, illness, recovery, and activism. The upcoming exhibition, 'THE WEIGHT OF WAITING,' continues this tradition. The gallery features two spaces: full-size work in the small gallery and miniature work in a public-facing dollhouse. The gallery operates on a non-traditional commercial model, taking only a 10% commission on sales.

What is Offered

Exhibition space, social media features during the show, inclusion in labels/catalogues with artist's unedited words, and 90% of sales (10% gallery commission).

Requirements

Works must fit the theme 'THE WEIGHT OF WAITING'. Primarily for women artists. Pieces can be full-size or miniature/small artworks. Selected artists pay a show fee of £5 - £10 per week.
