About the Open Call

The Hopper Prize is a merit-based grant program awarding 12 grants annually across two cycles (Spring and Fall). Winners are chosen based on the quality of their work and future potential. The program aims to increase recognition for visual artists and facilitate relationships with curators, writers, and collectors. The application is a two-step process requiring an application fee, personal info, and up to 10 image or video attachments.

What is Offered

Two grants of $4,500 and four grants of $1,000 are awarded each cycle.

Requirements

Applicants must be over 18 years of age. Open to international artists and collaborative teams. Any medium is accepted except sound-based art. Winners must retain copyright but grant reproduction rights for promotional use.
