Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University
The Hodder Fellowship offers a 10-month appointment as a Visiting Fellow at Princeton University. Fellows are expected to spend an academic year at Princeton, focusing on independent projects without formal teaching responsibilities. The fellowship is designed to provide 'studious leisure' for the development of new significant work by artists and writers. It is not intended to fund work leading to an advanced degree. Non-U.S. citizens are eligible to apply.
A $93,000 stipend is provided for this 10-month appointment as a Visiting Fellow.
Applicants must be artists and writers of exceptional promise demonstrating 'much more than ordinary intellectual and literary gifts.' Successful candidates typically have published a first book or have similar achievements in their respective fields. The fellowship is not for work leading to an advanced degree. Previous recipients of the Princeton Arts Fellowship are not eligible. One need not be a U.S. citizen to apply.
