The First International Bionantism Art Contest

About the Open Call

Bionantism is a new visual art theme where nature and technology are born together as one – not as contrast, not as decoration, but as a single living reality. This contest, organized by TDV ART by Mihai Ionescu, celebrates its first anniversary. The theme is expressed through works like bio-technical still lifes, floral compositions, and landscapes, where organic and mechanical elements merge. Submissions must be traditional artworks on physical support; digital or AI-generated works are not eligible. Original and innovative approaches reflecting this organic fusion are highly valued, while fantasy, magic, retro aesthetics, or protest messages will be disqualified. Winners will be announced during a live-streamed ceremony on November 21, 2025, in Bucharest.

What is Offered

$2,000 in prizes, opportunity to exhibit in the heart of Bucharest, Romania, certificates, and 2 nights’ accommodation for 2 persons in Bucharest for top winners.

Requirements

Open worldwide to all visual artists. Accept only traditional artworks created on physical support: Painting, Drawing, Mixed media, Sculpture. Digital or AI-generated artworks are not eligible. Maximum 1 artwork per artist. Both WIP and final photos are mandatory. Selected participants must promote their artwork online using #bionantism, tagging @tdvart24, and publishing on at least 2 recognized art platforms, submitting all links by November 20, 2025.

How to Apply

Participation is free of charge. All submissions must be sent by email to office@tablouri-de-vis.ro with the subject line: 'Bionantism Contest 2025 – Submission'. Step 1 requires sending one WIP (Work In Progress) photo, artist's full name, country, and contact email. Step 2 requires sending one final photo (high resolution, JPG or PNG, max 10 MB) and a short description (max 500 characters, in English). Both WIP and final photos are mandatory. Selected artists will be notified after November 10, 2025, and must provide publication links by November 20, 2025.
