Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center
This unique workshop centers on gesture, tactility, and the expressive power of materials through sustained work from the live model. Participants will investigate a wide range of drawing tools—including charcoal, conte, graphite, ballpoint pen, and ink—to experience how each material responds to pressure and movement. The curriculum covers quick gesture studies, sustained poses, proportion, and mark-making, emphasizing gesture as both the model's pose and the hand's movement.
A 3-day intensive workshop including artist demonstrations, individualized feedback, material-specific exercises, and group reflection.
Some prior experience drawing from the live figure and basic knowledge of drawing from live nude models.
