About the Open Call

UN _FORM_ ED is The Emerging Art Foundation’s short-form edition initiative. Each edition is published in the Spring, showcasing up to four entries by artists and writers who explore the interactions between visual and writerly practices. The foundation issues a prompt to invite a broad variety of interpretations and responses to the generative possibilities of language and formal constraints. The prompt for this edition is 'Mine'. Successful applicants will be featured in both online and print publications.

What is Offered

A £100 honorarium and publication in an online and print edition.

Requirements

Applicants must be over the age of 18 and a UK resident. Submissions must respond to the prompt 'Mine', have a maximum word count of 150 words, and include an image or typographical component. Works must be entirely original.

How to Apply

Entries must be emailed to submissions@emergingartfoundation.org with the subject line ‘FullName_UNFORMED2026’. Submissions must be sent as a single PDF document. Applications open on 23rd February 2026.
