About the Open Call

The Conjunctions Residency recognizes and supports writers of poetry, fiction, essays, and hybrid literary works who have a publication history and a commitment to helping other writers. Located at the Hemlock Neversink hotel on a 230-acre campus, the residency provides a private retreat with all meals included. The selected resident will lead a workshop at the Livingston Manor-Roscoe Public Library, give a public reading at Catskill Art Space, and be published in Conjunctions online.

What is Offered

A three-week stay in May 2026 with full room and board, access to spa and pool facilities, a travel honorarium of at least $1,000, and online publication.

Requirements

Applicants must be US citizens or legal residents and have published at least one book. They must also demonstrate significant contributions to the literary community (e.g., volunteering, curating series, or working for literary journals).

How to Apply

Applications are accepted via Submittable. Applicants must provide a cover letter describing their service to the literary community, a CV, a writing sample of 8-10 pages, and a project proposal of up to 600 words.
