Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC)
The Arab Documentary Photography Program (ADPP) is a joint initiative by AFAC and the Prince Claus Fund, in partnership with the Magnum Foundation. The program supports emerging Arab photographers by granting access to resources and professional support to initiate and complete unconventional visual documentation of social issues relevant to the region. Grantees work on their projects in their country of residence over a 10-month period and must attend three mandatory workshops to develop their work.
Up to $7,000 production grant, mentorship by distinguished photographers, and three specialized workshops (two physical and one virtual) with covered travel and accommodation costs.
Open to emerging photographers from, living, and working in the Arab region. Applicants must have technical familiarity with photography and possess full copyright ownership of their project. Journalists or activists without photography experience are ineligible. Applicants living outside the Arab region are also ineligible.
Applications must be submitted through the online application form in English or Arabic. Applicants must provide 10–20 images from the initial stages of the proposed project and images from a single body of work demonstrating visual storytelling abilities.
