The application for Villa Kivi Writers’ Residency 2026 is now open

About the Open Call

Writers’ House Villa Kivi will start a Writers’ Residency in the beginning of October 2024 in the side building of the Villa Kivi Estate, Linnunlaulu Villa Area, downtown Helsinki. Short term accommodation for writers visiting Helsinki will continue, too. Authors, writers and members of the literary community, who are not residents of Uusimaa province, Finland, are eligible to apply both for the Residency and the short-term accommodation. Applications for the longer-term Residency rooms require a working plan for a literary project during the Residency. No working plan is required for the short-term accommodation. Villa Kivi Residency has three rooms in the side building of the Villa Kivi estate. Aleksis and Eino are used for longer-term residence and the third room, Edith, is reserved for writers and members of the literary community visiting Helsinki for short-term accommodation.

Requirements
