About the Open Call

The Working Artist Grant/Art Purchase Award is a one-time art award intended to disperse small but vitalizing bursts of funding to support an artist's ongoing art making process. The award is available to all artists worldwide working in traditional and new visual arts mediums. If selected as the winner, the award recipient exchanges one of their original works (or a smaller series) for inclusion in the organization's collection in return for the $1000 award. The organization covers shipping costs for the work. Submissions are simple and require no written proposals or CVs unless the artist chooses to include them.

What is Offered

A $1000.00 grant and coverage of shipping costs for the artwork acquisition.

Requirements

Available to all artists worldwide working in visual arts mediums including conceptual, installation, drawing, painting, prints, sculpture, glass, mixed media, new media, photography, film, and video. Music, performance, and dance are not accepted. Recipients must be willing to exchange an original work for the grant.

How to Apply

Submit your website link or 5 images (each under 1MB), along with your name and contact information to grant@workingartist.org. A $25.00 submission review fee must be paid via PayPal as part of the application process.
