About the Open Call

This month’s challenge invites you to step Behind the Mask to explore hidden selves, layered identities, and what we choose to reveal or conceal. Your first entry is free, the guidelines are simple, and the process is designed to encourage honest, imaginative storytelling without extra hurdles. Selected works will be gathered into a curated collection with your name and link included, giving you a polished, shareable presence. Finalists receive certificates and a group feature, while top artists are highlighted with interviews and a mini-magazine spotlight. It’s an accessible way to test new ideas, connect with audiences, and grow within a supportive international community of artists. The competition also offers significant promotion beyond the challenge, designed to add value to your CV and attract collectors. Awards include a $150 cash prize for 'Best in Show,' artist interviews, homepage features, and free entries to the Blue Sky Artist Award. All selected artists receive recognition on the curated collection page. Runner-ups get website features, social media posts, and mini-magazine spotlights. Finalists receive permanent listings, digital certificates, and social highlights. Shareable assets are also provided for personal promotion.

What is Offered

Requirements

Open to Emerging or Established Artists 18+ years of age. Open to artists worldwide. The free entry is one per artist per monthly challenge until the specified deadline. 2D and 3D Mediums are encouraged, including painting, sculpture, mixed media, photography, and digital. Artists must own the rights to the work and imagery submitted. Artwork will be judged based on Craftsmanship, Presentation, Interpretation of the theme, Composition, Creativity, and Technical Skill.

How to Apply

Start with your free entry, add extra images within the same application. Complete the online form with artist name, website, titles, and mediums. Upload artwork under 3MB (JPG/PNG, max 2MB, minimum 2000px longest side). Confirm submission and check your email. The first upload is free until December 20th, 2025. Additional images have tiered pricing: 2 Images $18, 3 Images $25, 4 Images $36, 5 Images $45, 6-10 Images $55.
