About the Open Call

The Corridor Project (TCP) offers artist-in-residence opportunities on a 130-acre rural property in Central West NSW, Australia, adjacent to the Lachlan-Galari river and Wyangala Dam. The program is designed for multi-disciplinary artists, groups, and individuals to explore, ideate, experiment, and produce new work for future exhibitions. The facilities include restored shearers quarters and a repurposed historic woolshed, providing architecture for artists and community to stay and create in the landscape. The program draws inspiration from the striking granite strewn hills, river systems, expansive night skies, and habitat corridors of the surrounding area. TCP supported over 100 artists during 2024.

What is Offered

Artists are offered studio spaces, accommodation (including 12 bedrooms sleeping 24, equipped with linen, fans, and heaters), shared bathrooms (2 WC, showers, baths, plus additional showers in the shearers block), a fully equipped industrial kitchen with adjoining dining, living spaces, and an outdoor BBQ area. Self-catering is available, with catering as an option. Equipment provided includes 12 easels, a media kit, and sound and recording equipment. Wifi is available. The program also offers a place to research and develop new ideas, test practice, and create work within a natural environment, encouraging peer-to-peer exchange and offering professional development and skills training. Letters of support can be provided for artist-initiated funding applications.

Requirements

The program encourages multi-disciplinary artists, individuals, and groups to apply. Applicants must be prepared to outline their project plan and agree to comply with residency guidelines. Suitability for the program is based on availability and project fit.

How to Apply

To apply for the CORRIDOR AiR program, artists must complete an online application form. This form requires personal details (Name, Email, Address, Phone Contact, Socials and Web URL), preferred residency dates (start and end), duration of stay, and the number of participants (individual or group). Applicants must also describe the project they plan to work on during their residency. Information regarding the 'user pays' residency fee (based on duration and number of participants) or options for externally funded residencies (with Letters of Support from TCP for artist-initiated funding applications) will be discussed. Applicants must confirm the accuracy of information provided, understand acceptance is based on availability and project suitability, and agree to comply with residency guidelines.
