SPACES
The ECHO Artist Residency Program selects two artists to form a peer cohort, fostering the exchange of ideas and techniques while creating site-specific, immersive projects. The program prioritizes the commissioning of new, experimental contemporary work that challenges conventional exhibition models. Residents spend 4-6 weeks on-site, followed by a public exhibition. SPACES provides research support, curatorial guidance, and a local artist ambassador to integrate residents into the Cleveland community.
Artist honorarium and production budget, use of production facilities and A/V equipment, access to offsite maker spaces, on-site lodging, marketing and press support, a dedicated local artist ambassador, and a one-year SPACES membership including ArtsPass access to Zygote Press, The Morgan Conservatory, and Praxis Fiber Workshop.
Open to local Northeast Ohio artists (Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina, Summit, Portage, Geauga, and Lake counties) and artists from outside the region. Applicants should propose innovative, site-specific contemporary projects spanning installation, performance, sculpture, or new media.
Applications are accepted through the SPACES Submittable portal between November 10, 2025, and February 10, 2026.
