Solo and Small Group Exhibits

About the Open Call

The Delaplaine Art Center, located in historic downtown Frederick, invites artists to submit proposals for solo or group exhibitions for one of five galleries. Applications are reviewed by an Exhibition Selection Panel comprised of artists, curators, and arts professionals. All media are encouraged, provided artworks are original and not commercially made reproductions. The center schedules exhibitions two years in advance with bi-monthly review periods.

What is Offered

Selected artists or groups will be granted an exhibition in one of the center's five gallery spaces, ranging from 25 to 2,000 sq. ft.

Requirements

Artworks must be original; no commercially made prints, giclees, or reproductions of original work. Works created within the last 2 years are preferred. Proposals must include 6-20 work samples and demonstrate a comprehensive, cohesive aesthetic quality suitable for public display.

Apply online through the CaFÉ platform. Applicants must provide artist information (Name, City, Country, Phone, Email), a Biography/CV, Artist Statement, an Exhibit Statement, and 6–20 work samples.
