440 Gallery
The Twenty-First Annual Small Works Show, curated by Yara Doumani, is a juried exhibition taking place in Brooklyn, NY, from November 13 to December 19, 2025. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, September 3rd at 11:59:59 pm EST. The theme is 'Small Works', requiring all submitted pieces to be 12" on each side or smaller. The opportunity is open to U.S. resident artists at least 18 years old. All media—including oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, drawings, sculptures in any medium, collage, printmaking, photography, and digital media—will be considered. Works must strictly adhere to the 12" x 12" x 12" dimension limit. The gallery will take a 40% commission on any work sold, and all submitted work must be available for sale. Hand-delivered work is accepted at the gallery ONLY on November 8th (Saturday 12-6pm) and November 9th (Sunday 12-6pm). Shipped work must arrive at the gallery from November 6th–November 7th, in a reusable container with a computer-generated return label. No U.S. Postal Service or C.O.D. returns are accepted. Works not at the gallery by Sunday, November 9, 2025, will not be installed. Hand-delivered work must be picked up on Saturday, December 20, 12-6pm, or Sunday, December 21, 12-6pm. Shipped works will be returned the week of December 28. The gallery charges $5.00 a day for storage for unretrieved work after pick-up dates, and may dispose of work after 30 days. The entry fee is $25 for the first artwork; +$10 for each additional work (2, 3, 4, 5); +$5 for each additional work up to 10 works total. Entry fees are non-refundable. Judging for 2-D and 3-D works will be done entirely from JPEGs (max 2 MB per image). For video works, upload a still image and email the gallery at info@440Gallery.com with the subject line “Theme Show Video Submission” and a link to the video (YouTube or Vimeo). Accepted work must be professionally displayed: 2-D work suitably framed, wired, and ready for hanging (works on paper under plexiglass/glass; canvases wired). 3-D work must be able to hang securely, sit on a shelf, pedestal, or floor. Size limit for this exhibition is 12 inches (Height) x 12 inches (Width) x 12 inches (Depth) inches or 5 minutes for video work (framed size for physical works). Maximum weight of sculpture: 10 pounds. JPEG images MUST BE labeled as LAST Name_FIRST Name_The number that corresponds with that work's placement on the Entry Form (e.g., smith_joe_1.jpg). Files mislabeled or lacking the artist's name will not be viewed. Accepted work may be refused if it does not conform to the entered image. No substitutions of accepted works allowed. All accepted work must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition.

Artists must complete the online entry form provided on the 440 Gallery website. Submit high-resolution JPEGs (max 2MB each) for 2D and 3D works, following strict image labeling conventions (LAST Name_FIRST Name_Number). Pay the non-refundable entry fee, which starts at $25 for the first artwork.
