Small Wonders 2025

About the Open Call

The 21st annual Small Wonders exhibition by Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) invites artists residing in the US, Canada, or Mexico to submit original 2D or 3D work under 11 inches in all directions. There is no limit on creativity or media for these small but impactful works. Selected pieces will be exhibited in MFA’s Circle Gallery from November 26 – December 21, 2025. The juror for this exhibition is Dr. Elizabeth Nogrady, Chief Curator of the Leidan Collection in New York, who brings extensive experience in Dutch seventeenth-century art and academic programming. Artists agree to MFA's Statement of Equity and Diversity and General Guidelines. Accepted works may be used for promotional purposes with attribution. Work cannot be withdrawn before the exhibition ends. Should Circle Gallery be closed, MFA reserves the right to move the exhibit to its online gallery.

What is Offered

Exhibition in MFA’s Circle Gallery and 70% commission on sales (75% for MFA Members).

Requirements

Entry is open to artists residing in the any of the states or territories of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Work must meet exhibition guidelines and correspond with submitted images. All entries must be original, completed solely by the artist’s hand, and created within the past 3 years. Work previously exhibited at MFA Circle Gallery is not eligible. Maximum size of work, including edges of artwork or frame, cannot exceed 11 inches in any direction. Work must be for sale (Price on Request is an option).

How to Apply

Artists must upload all work through artcall.org. A maximum of 6 original works created within the past 3 years may be entered. The file size may be no more than 10 MB. For video submissions, provide a link in the Linked Web Resource field and upload a still frame. An artcall.org account (email and password) is required, which is free to create. Non-member entrants with fee discrepancies must pay the difference before display. A tutorial video on how to upload entries is available.
