EUNIC
The 2026 edition invites participants to engage with a network of Romanian spa towns that exist “between memory and renewal,” encouraging new perspectives on heritage, wellbeing, and public space. Artists and practitioners are expected to conduct research, collaborate with local communities, and develop proposals or works that respond to the social, ecological, and architectural context of these sites. The programme emphasizes interdisciplinary and experimental approaches, positioning these locations as laboratories for rethinking sustainability, care, and collective living. Outcomes may include installations, research projects, spatial interventions, or performative work presented publicly.
The open call is aimed at interdisciplinary artists and creative professionals, including architects, designers, filmmakers, researchers, and socially engaged practitioners. Applicants must be citizens or residents of selected European countries (including the UK, Germany, Poland, Spain, Romania, and the Czech Republic). Proposals should demonstrate a strong connection to themes such as heritage, ecology, public space, and regeneration, and show the potential for meaningful engagement with local contexts. Selected participants will take part in a two-week residency (July–September 2026), receiving support for travel, accommodation, and production, along with a stipend.
