Taubman Museum of Art
Celebrating 68 years of fine art, the Sidewalk Art Show returns to the streets near the Taubman Museum of Art in Roanoke, Virginia. This anticipated event serves as a premier destination for fine art shopping and artistic engagement. All works exhibited are for sale, including original paintings, prints, watercolors, etchings, mixed media, fine art photographs, fine crafts, and sculpture. The show occurs rain or shine in a high-energy downtown environment. Artists are responsible for their own displays, including 10'x10' tents and anchorage. The Taubman Museum of Art does not charge commissions on sales.
Accepted artists receive a 10'x10' booth space for sales and exhibition. Emerging artists (defined as being in their first three art shows) may be eligible for a $45 discount on their booth fee. No commission is taken by the museum.
All work must be original and unique, constituting at least 70% of the display. Digital images must be recent and accurately reflect the work to be shown. Items from kits, mass-produced goods, and AI-replicated works are strictly prohibited. Artists are responsible for handling their own Virginia sales tax (5.3%) and must provide their own equipment and anchorage for outdoor conditions.
Artists may apply electronically via Zapplication.org or through a physical submission of digital images on a CD or flash drive. Applicants must submit a total of five digital images: four representing the artwork and one showing the booth and display setup.
