About the Open Call

Our 50th printed issue of AAP Magazine will feature the best projects showcasing the theme: Shapes. Show us the elements that abstract into light, texture, shape and shadow. Understanding shape and form is one of the pillars of photography composition, and it can make even the most mundane objects become an object of art in its own right. Geometric, organic, positive or negative, shapes influence the degree of aesthetic beauty perceived when we first look at a photograph. Send us your best photographs where shapes may not just influence the image, but where it may also be the subject solely. Whether in architecture, portrait, landscape, nude, street or any other form of photography - classic or experimental: we're open to all genres and we want to discover the best and most interesting projects from all over the world. Please send us a cohesive body of work or portfolio. Only a unified group of photos will be published in AAP Magazine. Images that were previously published in AAP Magazine cannot be submitted again. Applications will be assessed on three criteria: creativity, originality, and the visual/emotional impact of the image. The winners will be announced on All About Photo, our newsletter and social media.

What is Offered

Winners will receive $1,000 in cash awards, their winning image(s) or full portfolio published in AAP Magazine Vol.50, extensive press coverage and global recognition. All winners will have their work published in the 50th printed issue of AAP Magazine, a free copy of the magazine and their portfolio showcased in the Winners Gallery of www.all-about-photo.com. Permanent Exhibition on All About Photo online gallery. International Press Exposure. First Place Winner receives $500, Second Place $300, and Third Place $200.

Requirements

Open to all individuals age 18 and older, professional and amateur photographers alike. Up to 40 images can be submitted. Images must be JPEG or JPG, 72 dpi, Grayscale or RGB profile, layers flattened, digital file not exceeding 2 MB, longest dimension not exceeding 1,200 pixels, minimum size 200 pixels. No Watermarks.

How to Apply

If you have not already a profile on All About Photo, you have first to register on our website. Then you will be able to log in and to upload your photos in your gallery. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EDIT YOUR SUBMISSION NOR TO ADD MORE IMAGES AFTER THE PAYMENT HAS BEEN PROCESSED. PLEASE REVIEW YOUR COMPLETED ENTRIES BEFORE PROCEEDING TO PAYMENT.
