Shades of Amber: Creative Contest for a Cure 2025

About the Open Call

This is your chance to express your creativity and contribute to an important cause. We are looking for original artwork inspired by the color amber, the official color of appendix cancer awareness, symbolizing hope, strength, and awareness for those affected by appendix cancer. Your art can be in any medium: painting, photography, drawing, digital art, or anything that conveys the spirit of hope and awareness. This virtual art contest engages artists and supporters to raise awareness for appendix cancer through creativity and community. It is an opportunity to support the fight against appendix cancer, a rare and often overlooked disease, where awareness, education, and research are critical. Your participation will help fund vital research and raise awareness to make a real impact.

What is Offered

1st Place: $300 VISA Gift Card, 2nd Place: $200 VISA Gift Card, 3rd Place: $100 VISA Gift Card. Recognition across ACPMP’s website, social media, and newsletter. The top 12 entries from the 2025 contest will also be featured in ACPMP’s 2027 Shades of Amber calendar, distributed nationally as a donor premium and awareness piece.

Requirements

Open to all artists, regardless of experience level or location. All forms of art are welcome, including but not limited to: painting, drawing, photography, digital art, mixed media, and textiles. Artwork must incorporate the color amber as a prominent feature and/or reflect themes of hope, strength, or awareness for appendix cancer. All submissions must be original work created by the artist. You may submit up to two pieces, with one image per piece accepted. File Format: High-resolution JPEG, PNG, or PDF (maximum 10 MB per image). Image Quality: Submit clear, well-lit, properly cropped images, as these will appear in the online voting gallery.

How to Apply

Submit 1–2 original artworks that incorporate the color amber and reflect themes of hope, awareness, and/or appendix cancer. Complete the submission form by uploading your artwork and providing required details. You will be prompted to make a $15 (or more) donation per entry to finalize submission. All submissions will be displayed online for public voting, where each vote requires a $5 or more donation. Share your art submission with friends, family, and networks to gather support and votes.
