About the Open Call

A ScreenSkills bursary is a cash grant to remove the obstacles to getting into the screen industries or progressing your career once you’re in. You can apply for money to pay for most things that relate to work and continuing professional development, such as training fees, accommodation, care, disability access costs, equipment, software and travel. Bursaries are supported by the BFI, awarding National Lottery funds, and by industry contributions to the Animation, Children’s TV, Film, High-end TV and Unscripted Skills Funds.

What is Offered

Cash grants for training fees, accommodation, care, disability access costs, equipment, software, and travel.

Requirements

Applicants must be 18 years or older, based in the UK, and at an entry, early, experienced, or expert career stage in the screen industries. Documentation including CV, personal statement, and proof of costs is required.

How to Apply

Before applying, read the bursary guidelines, identify your career stage, and check funding levels. Prepare a copy of your CV, a 500-word personal statement, and evidence of costs. Applications are submitted via the online portal. You can also use the bursary eligibility calculator on the website.
