About the Open Call

The residency program at Stiftung Künstlerdorf Schöppingen is designed for international artists and collectives working in Visual Arts, Literature, and Music Composition. The program emphasizes collegial advice, knowledge exchange, and public engagement. Residents are expected to contribute to the community of fellows and the local/regional environment through activities like workshops, presentations, or collaborative projects. The selection process for 2026 is closed, with the upcoming call for 2027 residencies opening in June 2026.

Requirements

Open to individual artists and collectives in Visual Arts, Literature, and Composition. Applicants must provide a concrete project proposal related to the Künstlerdorf's infrastructure. Audiovisual samples should be provided via links within the application PDF.

How to Apply

Applications for the year 2027 must be submitted via the online portal between June 27 and August 31, 2026. Applicants must upload a single PDF document (max. 20MB) in German or English containing: a statement (max 1/2 page), a short biography (max 1/2 page), a detailed project proposal (max 3 pages), a CV (max 3 pages), and a portfolio or work samples (max 15 pages for visual art/literature, 2-3 pieces for composition).
