About the Open Call

Since 2016, the Sansusī Arts Residency Center has been operating in Suseja (Aknīste). Initially designed as a residency for creating specific artworks during the festival, the project has evolved into an extensive platform for creativity. To date, the Sansusī Arts Residency Center has hosted more than 60 artists across various projects and continues to welcome projects from diverse artistic genres throughout the year. The Sansusī Art Residency Center Susēja invites artists from different countries and fields to apply for the Sansusī Residency Program to fully dedicate themselves to the creative process – research, development of new projects and experiments, while exchanging ideas with other residents. The Residency Center can accommodate a group of up to 13 artists at the same time in its six rooms. Facilities at the Residency Center: Rehearsal Space “Kupols” – 14 meters wide, 7 meters high, equipped with basic sound and lighting equipment, a dance floor, and a piano. Suitable for all types of performing arts, including contemporary circus (suspension systems are not provided). Activity Hall – 70 m², equipped with basic sound equipment, a grand piano, a projector, and a printer. Suitable for various indoor activities, seminars, and concerts. Outdoor Activity Space “KHOR ll” – A specially designed outdoor shelter for relaxation and conversations.

What is Offered

Accommodation, workspace and an artist scholarship per day (15 EUR)

Requirements

Artists of various genres – both individually and in groups (up to 5 people). At the end of the residency – public presentation in the chosen format.
