San Diego Watercolor Society
Held at the SDWS Gallery in San Diego’s Liberty Station, the 2026 International Exhibition runs from 27 September to 31 October. Juried by internationally recognized artist Ana Laura Salazar, the exhibition highlights original, high-quality watercolor works that demonstrate technical skill, innovation, and artistic vision. The show includes awards, a public exhibition programme, and opportunities for artists to gain international recognition within the watermedia field.

Eligibility Open to artists 18 years and older worldwide Artwork must be: Fully original (idea, design, composition) Created entirely by the artist (no supervision, no AI) Not derived from published images Not previously awarded or exhibited in SDWS International Exhibitions No restrictions on artwork completion date Accepted Media Water-based only: Watercolor, acrylic, gouache, casein, tempera Surface: Paper, paperboard, wrapped canvas, or wood panel Limited mixed media allowed (max 20%, no oils) Not Allowed Oils or oil-based sealants Digital art, photography, prints, reproductions AI-generated work Diptychs/triptychs or multi-panel works Work altered after submission Artwork Format Minimum size: 11 inches Maximum size (including frame): 48 inches Shape: square or rectangular
