Rubin Museum of Art
The Rubin Museum of Art offers an annual grant program once yearly. The program features two main tracks: Rubin x Research Grants, which support individuals or organizations broadening research and documentation of Himalayan art, and Rubin x Art Projects Grants, which support individuals creating contemporary works connected to Himalayan art. The application process begins with a mandatory Letter of Inquiry (LOI), followed by an invited full proposal stage for selected candidates. Proposals require detailed budgets, project descriptions, and, for art projects, a portfolio of past work.
Funding for research projects or contemporary art projects related to Himalayan art and culture.
For Research: info on individual/org, scope, goals, methodology, timeline, and Excel budget. For Art Projects: info on individual, 10 images of past work, renderings, connection to Himalayan art, audience plan, and Excel budget.
Applicants must first submit an online letter of inquiry form by March 6, 2026. Based on these letters, the Rubin Museum will invite selected candidates to submit a full proposal by May 29, 2026, via an invitation-only link.
