About the Open Call

The Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) invites artists of all backgrounds to submit works in media including painting, sculpture, printmaking, and drawing for their 2026 exhibition. The call is open to any artist aged 18 or over from anywhere in the world. Selected works will be exhibited physically at Mall Galleries and online. A significant array of prizes is available, including the £10,000 Huaicun Zhang Award. Work must be for sale, with a commission of 45% + VAT applied.

What is Offered

Inclusion in the RBA Annual Exhibition, eligibility for over £20,000 in prizes, invitation to the Opening Reception, and the opportunity to sell work.

Requirements

Artists must be 18 or over. Maximum of six works allowed. Works must not have been previously exhibited in London. Maximum size for work is 2.4m. Acceptable media include painting, sculpture, drawing, and original prints (photography is excluded). International artists must have a UK VAT number if selected.

How to Apply

Submissions are online only via the Open Exhibition Submission System (OESS). Artists must register and upload images of their work (JPEG or PNG, under 5MB) along with title, medium, size, and price details.
